Casting Ava DuVernay's New Gods

With the seemingly infinite cosmic knowledge afforded by the Mobius chair that Metron is always seen sitting in, his demeanour is often very plain and his speech concise and to the point - making the character seem incredibly similar to that of Star Trek's Spock.

Though, apparently, this is what Jack Kirby originally based Metron's personality on.

Whether or not that is the actual case, the similarities between the two characters would mean that someone who has played everyone's favourite Vulcan would do well as the New God, hence the choice of Ethan Peck.

Peck plays the character in the current Discovery series of the long-running show and has done so well as of yet, his performance being very much what you'd expect from Spock.

If he simply brought this to Metron, then the character would have a pretty darn accurate depiction on-screen.
