3. Doctor Strange Jeffrey Dean Morgan
Jeffrey Dean Morgan was awesome in Watchmen, investing his Comedian with equal parts heart-wrenching pathos and nuts-swinging lunacy. He offered up a tour-de-force as everyones favourite rapist scumbag, but the performance has left him in something of a superhero quandary. Namely, theres only one Watchmen, so regardless of how good he was in the part, he cant reprise it again. Of course, they could always do Before Watchmen as a film, but Im pretty sure (or at least I damn well hope) they wont for a while yet. Taking this into account, Marvel must see an opportunity to poach Morgan. Hes already proven himself a fantastic genre actor, so when they do release Doctor Strange as part of their B-Movie-rife phase three, it would be a crying shame to not have him in the title role. Somewhat older than your average superhero yet still looking every bit the part, Morgan seems a perfect fit for Marvels all-powerful wizard. He can pull off moral conflict at a stroke, has a deep, authoritative voice and possesses the manliest moustache youve seen outside of Victorian holiday snaps and/or the Prussian army. And remember, Stephen Strange does start out a bit of an arsehole, giving Morgan a glorious opportunity to break out the Comedians attributes again. Again, the man gives good douchebag, and has the ability to show a gradual climb out of that state of mind.
