Casting The Live Action Attack On Titan Movie

One of the biggest hits to come out on Netflix in the last 12 months is the brilliant adaptation of Gerard Way's dysfunctional superhero family drama, The Umbrella Academy. While the show had plenty of standouts, the biggest breakout star to come from the show was Aidan Gallagher He was fantastic as Five, the wise-cracking, mannequin loving old man trapped in his 13-year old body.

Considering he's such a young and inexperienced actor - other than The Umbrella Academy, he's only worked on a few Nickelodeon shows - the 16-year old was a complete scene stealer due to his charisma and mature, yet very funny performance. While his time on the show is mostly to add humour to a scene, there's an edge about him which is required when playing a character like Eren Yeager.

Yeager is filled with rage from the very beginning and Gallagher comes across as the type of actor who would thrive on having a character who is hell-bent on revenge, yet is still a naive, scared kid. He showed plenty of in the Umbrella Academy, so it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to see him pull of a role like this.
