Caught in the Headlights: Young, British Indie Filmmakers Start CrowdFunding Campaign

What Culture writer Adam Lock has wrote his own short film and is finishing his film in a unique way...

Fellow What Culture writer Adam Lock along with a group of promising Derby based filmmakers launched an Indiegogo campaign earlier this month. This crowd funding campaign is just one of the many ways that young, up and coming talent is finding an audience and funding for projects these days amidst increasingly hard times in the film industry. Director Christopher Bevan and writer Adam Lock are hoping to raise $1,600 (around £1,000) by the end of February for their project Caught In The Headlights. The film itself centres on a middle aged Taxi driver called Keith (Neal Higham) who over the years has become a pathetic, shell of the man that he once was. Working the night shifts he attempts to find peace in solitude as he buries his many issues, yet one particularly catastrophic night after taking all he can take, Keith decides to make a change, to gain control over his life once more and to face his problems head on. Writer/producer Adam Lock started writing the script in early October 2011 wanting to explore the theme of redemption and drawing upon many British influences from the likes of Mike Leigh to Shane Meadows. Director/producer Christopher Bevan joined the project in December 2011 and got the ball rolling. Bevan will be attending the National Youth Film Academy in April 2012 and has assembled a great cast and crew for Caught In The Headlights. The Indiegogo campaign, which can be found at: http://www.indiegogo.com/cithfilm is a great way for Indie filmmakers to make their dream films a reality and with your support we can hopefully continue to improve the British film industry by backing young talent. There are many perks to be found on the site and donations will be going towards the cost of hiring the equipment, paying for props, costume, travel expenses, food and accommodation.
