Change of director brings big change of feel for THE DESCENT: PART 2

It's working title was THE DE2CENT but sadly even though they have avoided the STV title (it's now simply called THE DESCENT 2), there's nothing very cinematic about the sequel to the surprise 2005 horror hit. CLICK HERE TO SEE IT! Jon Harris, the editor of the successful first film has stepped into the original director Neil Marshall's shoes and has helmed this sequel which sees Sarah (Shauna Macdonald), the only surviving member of the original cave expedition, return to aid a recuse attempt for the all girl group. Which of course goes wrong and a new set of characters are now plunged into the same situation as the original cast. Bloody Disgusting carry the underwhelming promo trailer which really just feels bland. There's moments here where the pacing of the trailer is at fault (which is never a good sign) and the lack of atmosphere and tension which was what the first film was solely relying on (certainly not the acting), doesn't leave the sequel with too many positive points. Pathe are releasing the film in the U.K. later this year. No word if Lionsgate are giving it a run in U.S. theatres.
