The Prisoner is a film that Christopher Nolan was slated to direct it back in 2009. Instead, he opted to stick with Batman and conclude his trilogy of DC Comics movies with The Dark Knight Rises. At the time, it was said that he dropped out of The Prisoner. But could he be ready to jump back in? Theres surely a chance. The Prisoner would be a cinematic adaptation of an ITV series of the same name from 1967. The show focusing on a secret agent held prisoner in a villa only ran for 17 episodes, but it clearly had an effect on Nolan. The Prisoner is something Ive been interested in for quite a long time, he said to IGN a few years before departing the project. He also praised the screenwriters involved, saying that "David and Janet Peoples are terrific. " wrote Blade Runner and Twelve Monkeys... all kinds of great movies, he continued, before claiming to be very excited to see what theyve come up with." Clearly Nolan was pretty passionate about the project before being drawn back to Batman. Perhaps he could be convinced to resurrect the project now that his schedule is a little emptier. Itd be a much smaller scale production than his recent output, which could be interesting.
