Heres another of Christopher Nolans previously talked about projects that seemed to fizzle out - a biopic of aviator, inventor, businessman and filmmaker Howard Hughes. Nolan had been lining up the film after his work on Insomnia in 2002. However, after hearing about Martin Scorseses then-in-development Howard Hughes flick The Aviator, starring Leonardo DiCaprio he stopped working on his own film. His next movie would end up being Batman Begins, and you know where things went from there. Now, though, enough time has passed since The Aviator that audiences could probably accept another biopic of Howard Hughes. It was a frustrating experience that the other movie got going, he told IndieWire in 2014. Will I revisit it? I have no idea [] I wouldnt necessarily rule it out, but I wrote it a long time ago." Only time will tell on this one, then. Intriguingly, Jim Carrey was said to be Nolans first choice back in the day. Many would surely still like to see those tantalising talents working together. Perhaps, though, Nolan would rather revisit one of his more recent films
