The nineties were a decade that saw Christopher Lee work in countless TV series, but his biggest Hollywood role during that period was in 1990's Gremlins 2: The New Batch, as the unfortunately named Dr Catheter. His character was an eminently reasonable mad scientist, in a way only Lee could bring to life.

The best dialogue from the entire movie has to go to Lee's character when he says to a Gremlin in his lab: "I can get you diseases. You'd like that, wouldn't you?"

But that exquisite comment is beaten for sheer viewer enjoyment only seconds later when he comes face to face with a vampire-like Gremlin sprouting bat wings. Lee's expression is priceless, and the audience can only think of all the times he was the vampire. Talk about a perfect meta-joke.
