CITY OF EMBER teaser poster!

Bill Murray's first leading movie in a while, a futuristic sci-fi flick co-starring Tim Robbins and more. Sorry for the name-dropping but this poster ain't selling the movie.

This article was written by James Francis Reihing as part of a trial, and it has been edited by Matt Holmes. Today brings us our first look at the teaser poster for the Tom Hanks-produced City of Ember, a fantasy film based upon the book of the same name by Jeanne Duprau. The film is being directed by Gil Kenan of Monster House fame and was filmed completely in Northern Ireland with the pretty diverse cast of Bill Murray, Tim Robbins, Saorise Ronan, Toby Jones and Martin Landau. The below poster seems to show the logo that they will be using for the film and not a whole lot more, which may not exactly explain the idea of the film to the audience. It almost looks...dare I say...reminiscent of the Speed Racer logo.
For generations, the people of the City of Ember have flourished in an amazing world of glittering lights. But Ember's once powerful generator is failing ... and the great lamps that illuminate the city are starting to flicker. Now, two teenagers in a race against time, must search Ember for clues that will unlock the ancient mystery of the city's existence, and help the citizens escape before the lights go out forever.
Screenshots of the film make it look promising though. Movie is set to open in October...
