Comic Book vs Film: How Avengers: Infinity War Is Already Different

1. The Consequences

In The Comics:

Because this is a comic, the consequences of Infinity War are essentially non-existent. Sure, there's a linked story in which Adam Warlock's evil double The Magus appears to cause havoc, but all of the events of the actual Gauntlet storyline are wiped out.

None of the deaths are permanent, and everything just resets, as always happens with major comic events eventually.

In The Film:

According to Kevin Feige, if there's a major death in Infinity War, it will be permanent. And on top of that, we know that there are big plans to change the MCU fundamentally into Phase 4 with new characters, new storylines and new locations for the forthcoming films.

There's no way a decade of story-telling is going to lead to something that can be undone as quickly as Thanos clicked his fingers. Especially when Marvel need an excuse to move out some of their veteran characters for new replacements. So, expect a lot more shockwaves than happened in the comics.
