7. Star Wars Episode VII Shall Receive A Subtitle

FacebookAt this point, there isn't much about the new Star Wars film left to announce. We already know that JJ Abrams is directing it, Empire Strikes Back scribe Lawrence Kasdan is writing it, it's due for release on December 18 2015, and it's got an insanely good cast. Besides showing us some footage, what else can they give us to get excited about? Considering the film has only just began shooting - and the amount of visual effects work that's gonna need to be done on it - we're unlikely to get any teasers at Comic-Con. But they could tell us one thing: the name. Right now it's just Star Wars Episode VII, without anything following that. The Force-sensitive gossipers out there are actually being pretty grounded with this rumour, hoping not for a trailer or anything like that, but simply a title. Industry insiders have suggested that Disney have been holding onto this particular reveal for San Diego, and if you don't think that sounds like a big deal...well, we guess you weren't around for all the articles on what "Dawn Of Justice" means for Superman v Batman. Disney might be doing some damage control as the convention, too. Right now there's a lot of rumours flying about the film like it's Mos Eisley spaceport, and not all of them good. Following an on-set injury suffered by Harrison Ford there's scuttlebutt that the film's release might get pushed back by six months, as far as May 2016 rather than December 2015. Fans might be getting worried about the new trilogy in their beloved franchise - how better to allay their fears than by giving them another morsel to totally obsess about and over-analyse?
Likelihood: High. There's not much else for them to announce at this point, and they're definitely going to have a presence at the Con.
