Creed II Review: 6 Ups & 3 Downs

1. It's A Strong "Ending" For The Series

Again, no spoilers here, but if Creed II ends up being the capper to the Rocky franchise, then it's a totally smart and affecting way to close things out.

Of course, money suggests that this won't be the final Creed film, but it nevertheless leaves all the principal players in dramatically satisfying places with little left hanging.

It would be a shame to undo all that, especially as it's tough to imagine where Adonis' story could really go from here, and with Stallone reportedly quitting the Rocky role after this film, it would be extremely odd to go on without him.

The final moments of Creed II totally stick the landing, and it'd be a wonderful act of integrity if MGM actually put the franchise to rest here. After all, eight movies and $1.5 billion at the box office is a pretty damn good run.
