D23: 10 MCU Announcements That Will Break The Internet

5. Announcing The Wonder Man Series

Still to come on Disney+ in the coming years are Secret Invasion, Echo, season two of Loki, Ironheart, Agatha: Coven of Chaos, Daredevil: Born Again, seasons two and three of What If…?, and that’s without mentioning Armour Wars, X-Men ’97, and Spider-Man: Freshman Year.

This will be a lot to take in over the next few years, however there is another series in the works that hasn’t yet been officially announced. Recently, it was reported that Ben Kingsley would be reprising his role as Trevor Slattery yet again for the Wonder Man series on Disney+.

This was strange news, as it was a casting for a show that hasn’t even been announced yet. This announcement may feel like simply adding more to the Disney+ pile at this point, but there is one thing that could truly set it apart.

Back in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, there was to be a scene on Earth, that was ultimately cut, which featured a poster of Simon Williams playing Tony Stark in a movie. Williams is of course the movie star alter ego of Wonder Man, and in this instance was played by none other than Nathan Fillion. This would have the potential to rival other perfect MCU castings, and would be a huge bomb to drop on the D23 stage.
