D23: 10 MCU Announcements That Will Break The Internet

3. A First Look At Kang The Conqueror

If we’re being completely honest, as fun as Ant-Man as a character is, and as beloved as Paul Rudd is as an actor and as a human, the Ant-Man and the Wasp franchise is arguably one of the MCU’s weakest. Neither movie is bad, but neither is especially great either.

However, this could potentially change with the third movie in the trilogy, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. This will kick off Phase Five in a huge way, though people aren’t particularly excited about either Scott Lang or Hope van Dyne, they want to see Kang the Conqueror.

Jonathan Majors made his MCU debut as He Who Remains in Loki, but this was just a Variant of Kang, the villain who will be the focal point of the entire Multiverse Saga. This is the new Thanos, and Feige has teased on more than one occasion just how big a deal both Kang and Majors himself are.

There was some footage shown of an interaction between Ant-Man and Kang at Comic-Con, though it wasn’t released any further than Hall H. Should this change at D23, should fans finally get their first real glimpse at Kang, expect anticipation for Phase Five to go through the roof.
