Daniel Craig is James Bond in Skyfall First Look Image

007 seems to have gone a few days without sleeping and shaving, holding his Walter PPK on a mission in Shanghai.

Released a couple of hours ago as promised by 007.com, the first official still from the next James Bond movie Skyfall is now online. The image features Daniel Craig as 007 who seems to have gone a few days without sleeping and shaving, holding his Walter PPK on a mission in Shanghai. Skyfall is of course directed by Sam Mendes, the auteur behind American Beauty and Road to Perdition and it's the first time an Oscar winning helmer has ever been in charge of a Bond movie. We have huge hopes for this one given Mendes's track record and the excellent cast he has put together that includes Javier Bardem as the villain, Ralph Fiennes as what we expect to be some kind of uber-Blofeld villain, Naomi Harris as a secret agent, Berenice Marlohe as the typical foreign Bond girl, Ben Wishaw as Q and Albert Finney as M's boss... with Judi Dench returning as M. The kind of vague official plot synopsis we have to date;
In Skyfall, Bond's loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.
Skyfall is due October 26th in the UK and a few weeks later in the U.S.
