Dark Phoenix: 10 Ways It's The Worst X-Men Film Yet
6. Its Handling Of The New Series' Cast
Apart from McAvoy, Fassbender and Lawrence, one of the more beloved elements of the new series' cast was Evan Peters. The Kick-Ass star portrayed Quicksilver in DOFP, Apocalypse and now Dark Phoenix, but whereas he'd been a recurring highlight in the previous two entries, he's scarcely seen in the latest film.
Pietro is involved in the film until the end of the first act, where he's injured in a fight with Jean. He next appears during the literal ending of the film, where he cracks one of the only jokes.
Annoyingly, it's Apocalypse's inductees that see most of the screentime. There's Jean and Cyclops leading the way, but Storm and Nightcrawler get next to no involvement. Everything just seems somewhat misaligned and few - if any - emerge with something resembling a full character arc.
