Dark Phoenix Trailer: 9 Reasons To Be Worried

8. Those Horrible New Costumes

Though X-Men: Apocalypse ended with the X-Men getting a nifty wardrobe upgrade, the nine-year time jump to 1992 has resulted in the superheroes being kitted out with yet another set of duds. Emphasis on the word "dud" there.

In a rather misguided attempt to nod to the classic costumes from the comics, the X-Men appear to be wearing tracksuit outfits with a yellow "X" emblazoned on the front.

You can argue that giving the heroes a zip-top is a playful attempt to reference the movie's period setting where tracksuits were all the rage, but considering how badly some of the clothes fit the X-Men (Quicksilver's [Evan Peters] suit looks at least a size too big), the re-design just comes off awkward and even unintentionally comical.
