Darren Aronofsky's Movies Ranked From Worst To Best

6. Noah

Noah Russell Crowe
Paramount

Even though the filmmaker clearly wrestled with Paramount over the final cut of his biblical epic, the end product is still one of the most unwiedly visions you'll ever find at a $125 million price point.

Though pacing is a bit of an issue and not all of Aronofsky's creative gambles pay off, it's a gorgeous, haunting spectacle all the same, with Russell Crowe giving one of his better recent performances in the title role, supported by a game ensemble cast.

A singular adaptation of a classic tale that stands tall on its own, Noah may not be one of Aronofsky's better films, but considering how many indie filmmakers end up chewed up by the big-budget studio system, he really acquits himself rather well.
