Having wowed with Mindhunter and Mank, David Fincher and Netflix are to team up once more for a movie adaptation of Alexis Nolent’s The Killer.

As per Deadline, Fincher will be reuniting with Se7en screenwriter Andrew Kevin Walker to put together this feature-length take on Nolent’s graphic novel series. In the years since Se7en, Walker has worked on the likes of Fight Club, The Game, Sleepy Hollow, and The Wolfman.

In addition to Fincher and Walker’s involvement, 12 Years a Slave and the X-Men franchise’s Michael Fassbender is believed to be in talks to headline The Killer.

Beginning life back in 1998, Alexis Nolent’s The Killer works focus on a brutal assassin who is drawn back into the world of political killings after previously suffering a psychological crisis. Previously, Fincher had tried to adapt the property at Paramount Pictures back in 2009, but that ultimately didn’t happen.

The Killer will be the latest project from David Fincher and Netflix, after the filmmaker penned a four-year deal to produce content for the on-demand streaming juggernaut – the most recent of which was the stunning Citizen Kane making-of offering, Mank, which scooped up an impressive six Golden Globe nominations.
