DCEU: 10 Actors Who Should Play Nightwing

1. Joseph Gordon-Levitt

If there was any justice in the world of movies, Joseph Gordon-Levitt would already have played Nightwing. In some glorious alternate universe, he starred in a fourth Christopher Nolan Batman movie, first taking over the reigns as Batman but realising the weight of that symbolism and expectation was too great and striking out on his own when the return of the Joker brought Bruce Wayne back to Gotham.

But life is cruel and that never happened, and all we got in reality was a hint that he might have been Robin, but probably not THAT Robin.

The irony in Gordon-Levitt's performance as John Blake, of course, is that he was already playing Batman's moralising side-kick. He was already on the track to becoming Nightwing: steadfast and willing to challenge Bruce and morally centred enough to justify his own hero status. And nothing has changed since then.

He has the right sort of physique for Dick, and he is both charismatic enough and deep enough to play such a swaggering but fundamentally wounded character. And who the hell even cares about continuity issues anyway?
