DCEU: 10 Changes From The Comics That Were Totally Justified
1. Batman Assembling The Team (Justice League)
Batfleck took on the Nick Fury role in the DC Extended Universe by bringing the world's mightiest heroes together to save the planet from an intergalactic threat.
This kept him busy in the dying stages of Batman v Superman, Suicide Squad's post-credits sequence and the first act of Justice League, but it was quite the departure from the New 52 era comic books.
In the Justice League: Origin special, the heroes come together naturally, having gone on their own journeys, to join the fight against Darkseid. They pooled their resources of their own accord, having realised exactly what was at stake.
Admittedly, the comic book version of events is more heroic, but having Batman track down each of the Leaguers using his master detective skills worked in the context of the DCEU, and it was freaking cool to boot.
This is a good example of a source material deviation which helped tailor the comics for cinema. Those post-credits stingers and teasers did their part when it came to drumming up hype and anticipation ahead of the Justice League's assembly, and it made sense that Bats, with his unique skills, was the one generating it.
