DCEU: 10 Changes From The Comics That Were Totally Justified
2. Superman's Post-Resurrection Costume (Justice League)
Superman's resurrection in Justice League was as inevitable as Steppenwolf's defeat, but the risen Man of Steel's choice of wardrobe did surprise some fans.
Many were expecting Henry Cavill's superhero to don his iconic black getup from the comics, the suit he wore after coming back from the dead in The Return of Superman comic book arc, but the rumours proved untrue.
Given what Zack Snyder was trying to achieve with Supes in this movie, the omission of his dark threads is understandable. Justice League was all about rebirthing Superman in a more traditional mould, course correcting from his poorly received portrayal in Man of Steel and Batman v Superman.
Although having Supes decked in all black would have worked well in the scene where he's squaring off against the Justice League, Snyder seemingly didn't want to the audience to dwell on the idea of a dark version of the character, something he had already explored with mixed results.
As much as the fans wanted to see the famous black costume, the traditional red, white and blue was the way to go in Justice League, since the character's resurrection represented a beacon of light in a world gone dark.
