DCEU: 10 Changes From The Comics That Were Totally Justified
3. Green Lantern's Omission (Justice League)
As a founder member of the Justice League, Green Lantern had every right to appear in Zack Snyder's big DC Extended Universe team-up last year, though there are legitimate reasons why he had to be benched.
For starters, Snyder was clearly mindful of introducing too many characters at once. Without solo films to feed into Justice League, the likes of The Flash, Aquaman and Cyborg got a raw deal on their screen time, and it would have been even rawer with Hal Jordan, Kyle Rayner or John Stewart also vying for the spotlight.
Moreover, the fact the whereabouts of the Green Lantern Corps is unknown is an important plot point. The intergalactic police force's lack of presence in this corner of the DC Universe is what left the Earth wide open to Steppenwolf's invasion.
No doubt 2020's Green Lantern Corps movie will explain why the Emerald Knights were a no-show while the planet was under attack, and this is for best since their story, with its rich cosmic elements, will need at least one film to flesh out before they're introduced to the mainline DCEU.
