DCEU: 10 R-Rated Movies DC Needs To Make
4. Constantine
Now, an R-rated movie based on John Constantine has already happened, but what about making one this time that's actually good?
The Keanu Reeves-starring effort wasn't awful, but it simply veered too far from the source material's conception of the character, leaving fans eager to see Constantine faithfully adapted in a movie again aimed at grown-ups.
All the new movie really needs to do is take the 2005 film's aesthetic, update it with contemporary effects, languish more in the cynical, sarcastic, embittered side of the title character, and actually get his physical characteristics right (namely blonde hair and a Scouse accent).
How Likely Is It?: If Justice League Dark ever does happen and the character is first done justice there, a Constantine spin-off is much more probable.
However, given that the 2005 Constantine movie wasn't particularly successful and the Matt Ryan-starring TV show was speedily cancelled, the character probably hasn't sold himself to Warner Bros.' executives as a particularly smart bet. 3/10
