Of the two Batman animated films set to be released in 2019 as part of the celebration of Batman's 80th birthday, only one is known. That's an adaptation of The Long Halloween, while the other remains a mystery for now.

Given the animation arm of Warner Bros' focus on seminal stories like The Killing Joke and Under The Hood, it's no surprise that they'd turn their attention to a story as iconic as The Long Halloween before too long.

It's a terrible shame that the story is so unlikely for the big screen treatment, because it's exactly the kind of narrative event that would allow for lots of villains and lots of hype. But seeing it adapted by the excellent animated studio is a good first step.
