Deadpool 2: 102 Easter Eggs, Gags & References Explained
3. Cleaning Up X-Men Origins: Wolverine
Deadpool takes full advantage of the time travel device by going back in time (and into another universe, but let's maybe just ignore that bit) to find and kill the X-Men Origins: Wolverine version of Deadpool.
The film uses footage from the movie, including a cameo from Hugh Jackman as Deadpool apologises for the intrusion before emptying his clip into the inferior pretender.
2. Green Lantern
'Pool then jumps to elsewhere in the timeline and kills Ryan Reynolds as he looks at Green Lantern script and says "welcome to the big time", saying "you're welcome, Canada" as he does so. Talk about knowing how to appeal to your fans.
1. Deadpool's Swords
You can't really see it in the film, but we've subsequently found out some more details about Deadpool 2 after release, including one lovely little Easter Egg.
It turns out that 'Pool's swords are called Bea and Arthur in honour of the actress who starred in The Golden Girls, the classic show that Deadpool is known to be a fan of. He wears a t-shirt with her face on it at one point in the first movie.
In the comics, the Deadpool Corps has a ship named after her too.
