Deadpool 2: 102 Easter Eggs, Gags & References Explained

90. Deadpool Doesn't Like Kids

Deadpool Ellie
Marvel Comics

When Pool and Vanessa talk about kids, it makes sense that he's a little reluctant at first before he becomes enthusiastic, because that's exactly what happened in the comics when he discovered that he actually DOES have a daughter.

On the page, he has a daughter called Ellie whose mother tried for years to get him to pay child support. Though he's reluctant and sends them away (out of disbelief and fear for them coming to harm), he changes his tune and is a surprisingly dutiful father, all things considered.

89. Connor

There's a lovely little Easter Egg in there that proves what kind of person Ryan Reynolds is.

One of the names Wade throws out as potentially for their kids is Connor, which is a tribute put in the film by Ryan Reynolds to 13-year-old Connor McGrath. who died of cancer and who Reynolds showed the first movie before his death courtesy of the Make-A-Wish Foundation. What a guy.

88. True Believers
