8. Cable, A Racist?

Black Tom Cassidy is introduced during the Icebox sequence, and he ends up dead during the convoy battle when Cable fires a bullet at Deadpool but misses, instead blasting Tom in the head.

A faux-heartbroken Deadpool screams, "You killed Black Tom, you racist son of a b****!", and Cable's "racism" becomes a running joke for the rest of the movie.

Later, when Cable asks Dopinder to turn the Indian music down, Deadpool mocks him, "Why don't you say it in an Indian accent?" while comforting Dopinder, much to Cable's exasperation.

The gag gets its ultimate payoff during Deadpool's "death" monologue, where he tells Cable, "Promise me you'll start judging people not by the colour of their skin but by the content of their character."

Deadpool doesn't even stop there, though, with his final voiceover keeping the joke going: "What do you get when you take eight feet of chrome, one pinch of courage, a cup of good luck, a dab of racism, a splash of diabetes and a wheelbarrow full of stage 4 cancer? Answer: A family." Beautiful.
