1. The Old Man And The Sea

If you weren't already certain that the short was being as provocatively weird as possible, it ends with a quick-scroll summary of The Old Man And The Sea as Wade finishes his monologue.

If you want to read too much into it - because of course you do - there are some narrative similarities between Logan and Hemingway's novel: both are concerned with finality, fading life and one last act of heroism.

And inevitably, there are some very Deadpool references in there: there are references to Red Lobster, Will Smith’sFresh Prince character, Joe DiMaggio’s relationship with Marilyn Monroe (as he plays a key background part in Hemingway's text), and weird shark dicks.
