As the short fades out with the victim dead and Deadpool cheerfully eating his Cherry Garcia ice cream, the music that plays will be recognisable to Quentin Tarantino fans as “You’re So Cool” - the theme from True Romance by Hans Zimmer

The piece is actually based on Gassenhauer from Carl Orff's Schulwerk, itself inspired by a much older work by the lutenist Hans Neusiedler from 1536. None of that is particularly interesting, but the music has also been used in Badlands (1973), Ratcatcher (1999), Finding Forrester (2000), Monster (2003),Capitalism: A Love Story (2009) and The Simpsons′ episode "The Scorpion's Tale" (2011).
