Deadpool 2: The Secret Significance Of Cable's Daughter

In the film's climax, Cable reveals his daughter's name to be Hope. That's a massive revelation, as - in the comics - Hope Summers turns out to be a mutant messiah of sorts. As opposed to the film, Hope isn't Nathan's biological daughter, but the two do go onto form a surrogate connection and Cable protects her from all sorts of threats, including the Marauders (led by Mister Sinister, whose presence has been alluded to in the films), and the Purifiers, who believe that Hope is actually the mutant Antichrist.

Though it's not yet clear if Hope will come to play a bigger part in Fox's X-Men franchise (especially not, with its future now in doubt thanks to the planned Disney-Fox merger), she's a massive character in the comics. Fans had previously suspected that the bear featured in Cable's costume would be tied to Hope, but with her presence now confirmed, could a bigger role in X-Force now be on the horizon?

If she were to appear, then it's up to Fox as to how accurately they portray her powers. In the comics, Hope is actually an Omega Level mutant. What does that mean? Well, it means she's in the top tier of mutants when it comes to her power levels. She's mastered the Phoenix Force (the power that inconveniences Jean Grey every other year), and she can also imitate any mutant's power of her choosing, meaning that anything Wolverine can do, she can probably do better.
