Deadpool 2 Trailer Reactions: 7 Ups & 3 Downs

2. More Violence

Though Tim Miller was rightly lauded for helping Ryan Reynolds get Deadpool off the ground in the first place - and indeed for what he managed to put together in the first film - he didn't quite nail the hyper-violence Deadpool comic book fans might have expected.

Sure, there were some moments in there, but the punchy bits definitely didn't match the swearing or the gags or the silliness and it showed. Particularly on repeat viewings.

Thankfully, for the sequel, Miller was replaced by John Wick helmer Deadvi Leitch, who definitely knows how to do violence and how to make it look as cool as it does bone-crunching. That much is very evident already in the brief flashes of the old ultra-violence in the trailer, which looks to be channelling Leitch's other works quite wonderfully.
