With some wondering whether a third Deadpool movie would happen once 20th Century Fox was assimilated by Disney last year, now comes a hugely positive update on what’s next for the Merc with a Mouth.

Per Deadline, Disney and Marvel Studios have brought in Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Logelin to pen the screenplay for Deadpool 3. And yes, soon-to-be Wrexham AFC co-owner Ryan Reynolds is of course set to be back in the saddle as Wade Wilson.

It’s believed that Reynolds and Marvel Studios met with several writers to take pitches on what Deadpool 3 could look like, and the ultimate decision was made to give the gig to the Molyneux sisters.

Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Logelin are likely best known for creating FOX’s The Great North, and they also worked as writers and producers on the phenomenal Bob’s Burgers.

Despite some fearing that Wade’s antics would be toned down once Deadpool was brought under the Disney banner, the current word is that Deadpool 3 will proudly keep hold of the language and violence that was so prominent in Deadpool 3's two predecessors.

Due to scheduling issues, it looks like Deadpool 2 director David Leitch won’t be returning for this third outing for Chiyonosake. At this stage, Deadpool 3 has yet to be given a release date – but just hearing that the movie now has a writing team will be enough to bring a smile to faces.
