1. Deadpool Is Hilarious
Probably the most obvious of our five reasons, actually. There are some great moments through all of the comics Deadpool regularly makes reference to himself being in a comic, being in a game and (soon) a movie. No other character in recent memory, that I can think of, does that quite so well, or as regularly and it makes a world of difference to the reader's overall experience. In all the clips inserted in this article, and all of his cameos over the years in cartoons and movies (I recommend Marvel's animated Hulk vs Wolverine you'll watch for the fighting and stay for the Deadpool), his wit has been constant and unapologetic; centering around his obsession with food, his hatred of Wolverine and Spider-man and love for mammary glands. Deadpool's words offer a welcome contrast (and some sense of denouement) from his blunt force, killing sprees and maniacal mood-swings. Indeed, it's Deadpool's unbalanced nature that makes him such an unpredictable opponent to face, and such a funny character. Check out the still below and see one of the excellent promotional stills for the Deadpool game in which it's clear that our red clad mate has defaced an Amazing Spider-man promotional poster in favour of promoting his own product. It'll be fantastic to see what the team behind Reynolds' Deadpool can come up with using such a vast back-catalogue of comic references to the character as motivation.
