This is blatantly a nod to the unforgettable post-credits scene from 2012's The Avengers, where the superheroes scarf down some well-earned shawarma in the dusty remnants of an eatery following The Battle of New York.

At the end of this film, Deadpool and Wolverine similarly feast on the stuff, as Deadpool makes the outrageous claim, "Did you know the Avengers discovered shawarma?", surely nodding to the food's skyrocketing popularity following the release of the 2012 film.
