Zira was a very arrogant and stubborn lioness which was essentially her hamartia and led to her death. She was so determined to make Kovo King of Pride Rock by killing Simba, that she lost sight of what was best for her and her pride. She created a war in order to gain possession and succession of a land that didn't even belong to her, instead of uniting with Simba and living harmoniously. Instead of feeling defeated by her pride not wanting to continue with the war, she felt betrayed and even went to attack her own son. She died falling from the cliff edge after rejecting Kiara's help. Zira was the antagonist which was keeping the two opposing prides from living together in harmony and her death brought peace to Pride Rock, so not many people were mourning for her.
