5. Maleficent (2014)

Perhaps there's a logistical reason why Maleficent isn't landing on Day One of Disney+, but you'd think Disney would have gone all out on making it possible since the platform launches the same week as the sequel, Maleficent: Mistress Of Evil hits cinemas.

Surely that was an easy marketing win? Cross-promotion is usually Disney's strong suit, so it's all very baffling, even if the sequel feels a touch unnecessary. Jolie is great as the iconic villain and the story is pretty strong and it would have been hugely valuable to help the sequel along at the cinemas. But it's not to be.

If it is indeed because of existing streaming deals, this is supremely unfortunate, but then Disney do set their own release dates, so it's on them.
