12. The Might Ducks (1992)

There are lots of weird Disney live action movies on Disney+'s launch list - and a fair few of them are not great - so it's a bit of a travesty that The Mighty Ducks (and its two sequels, which are genuinely pretty good too) didn't make the initial cut.

The original is a brilliant movie that embodied everything Disney stood for when it was released in 1992 and it has the irrepressible spirit that the best underdog sports movies boast. It's also legitimately one of the most famous and beloved kids movies of the 90s, so what gives...?

Gordon Bombay's finest hour is a particularly surprising omission considering there's a new live action TV show on the way to Disney+ in the nearish future, but maybe they're holding it back to make an event of that release?

Weirdly, the animated spin-off that featured actual ducks is on Disney+ at launch.
