4. Joseph Gordon-Levitt Was Offered A Role
As if Joseph Gordon-Levitt didn't have the busiest 2012 as it stands already, Tarantino originally sought to cast the talented actor in
Django Unchained, too. Presumably busy with making the sixty or seventy other movies that Joseph Gordon-Levitt made last year, the actor had no choice but to refuse the part, one that was subsequently written out of the script as a result. He did, however, cite Tarantino as one of his favourite filmmakers and hoped that they would have a chance to work together at a later date. Gordon-Levitt didn't stray away from the themes of slavery entirely in 2012, though: he played Abe Lincoln's son in Steven Spielberg's
Lincoln.
