Doctor Strange: 11 Giant Questions It Leaves Unanswered
The MCU gets its noodle baked.
Doctor Strange is finally here, and you know what? It's pretty damn good, delivering a sturdy origin story for the title character and gracefully introducing magic to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
As with just about any MCU movie these days, though, it basically ends up asking the audience as many questions as it in fact answers, with particular regard here to how Strange will slot into the fast-growing franchise.
What do those crucial credits scenes actually mean? Did certain characters manage to survive apparent death? And how exactly do these events bring us closer to the long-awaited showdown with Thanos in 2018's Infinity War? There's a lot to digest, and combining what's known about the MCU so far with a little educated guesswork, it's time to try and figure things out.
Here are 12 giant questions Doctor Strange leaves unanswered...
11. Will Doctor Strange Appear In Thor: Ragnarok?
The Question: With Thor appearing in the movie's post-credits scene and Strange ultimately agreeing to help him and Loki find Odin, does this mean that Strange will have some sort of role in next year's Thor: Ragnarok?
The Likely Answer: Well, that scene would be a major cop-out if he didn't, though fans expecting him to join Thor and The Hulk as part of a three-way bromance for a big chunk of the movie will probably end up disappointed.
The Thor-Hulk pairing really seems like plenty for one movie, so best to expect Strange to have a cameo or smaller supporting role (an "extended cameo" as it's called these days), probably played more for laughs than anything.
In terms of cementing Strange's place in the MCU, that seems like the perfect call.
