Doctor Strange 2: 10 Multiverse Cameos That Would Break The Internet

4. Patrick Stewart/Ian McKellen As Professor X/Magneto

Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen's versions of Professor X and Magneto are among the most beloved comic-book-movie characters ever.

Whenever people talk about multiverse cameos, older characters that should return, or Fox characters that should survive into the Disney/MCU era, these two are consistently near the top of the list.

In other words, fans would absolutely devour a cameo from either one of them - especially if said cameo also doubled as confirmation that they'll return in future movies, as we just saw with Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock in No Way Home. The MCU hasn't cast any X-Men yet, but Multiverse Of Madness could kick things off.

And hey, we know that Stewart has met with Kevin Feige to discuss a potential role. Apparently, he declined the opportunity, but it wouldn't be unlike a comic-book-movie actor to deny their involvement in a major project, would it?

Combine that with those fervent rumours of McKellen's Magneto appearing in WandaVision, and it's clear that the hunger for these particular versions of Xavier/Erik is very much alive and well, over 20 years later.
