Doctor Strange 2: 8 Ways It Could Change The MCU Forever

7. By Using The Multiverse To Resurrect Dead Characters

The MCU has a reputation for being hesitant to kill off its main characters, regularly giving them "death fakeouts" (Nick Fury in Captain America: The Winter Soldier), or even bringing them back from beyond the grave (Phil Coulson in Agents Of SHIELD).

Recently, the MCU has also started using the multiverse to "resurrect" dead characters, with alternate-timeline versions of Loki and Gamora replacing their prime counterparts, who both died in Avengers: Infinity War.

Hell, something similar just happened in Spider-Man: No Way Home, with the multiverse allowing dead villains like Doc Ock and Green Goblin to return.

So... what if Doctor Strange 2 pulls a stunt like this?

Maybe this is where Robert Downey Jr makes his oft-rumoured return as Tony Stark, or perhaps Scarlett Johansson will appear as Black Widow. Remember, she's working with Marvel Studios on a "top secret project" that's said to be non-Black Widow related - but as we all know, superhero filmmakers are also rather proficient liars.

Going forward, the ramifications here would obviously be huge, but even if it's only limited to Doctor Strange 2, seeing some dead Marvel characters enter the fray would make opening night crowds lose their minds.
