Doctor Strange: 9 Reasons It's The Weirdest Marvel Movie Ever

1. It's Marvel On LSD

Not only is Doctor Strange Marvel's weirdest film so far, it's almost its most visually stunning. The studio hasn't been lacking in special effects, but this takes it an entirely new level. It's barely even the same game, to be honest.

It's not just Marvel, either. The effects work here is unlike anything we've seen from a superhero movie, and indeed any movie this side of Inception.

This is pure psychedelia, Marvel on LSD. The movie is an acid trip through a kaleidoscope, a swirling storm of almost unbelievable imagery. Worlds reflect themselves, and then fold inward; they're turned upside down and inside out. Strange falls down the rabbit hole and we go with him; curiouser and curiouser, dazzling spectacle upon dizzying effect.

It's a strange trip, but one you'll revel in. It's an artistic wonder, whether it's imagery that's almost ripped from the works of Steve Ditko or the imaginary playground of Salvador Dali. Open your eye, because this is something you have to see.
