Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness: 10 Biggest MCU Implications
3. True Integration Of The Disney Plus Shows
The MCU has always prided itself on connectivity, though earlier entries such as Daredevil (until Spider-Man: No Way Home) and Agents of SHIELD are not acknowledged by the mainline MCU movies. As such, 'canon' can be ambiguous at best, especially so many years in.
With that in mind, Disney's suggestion that the new Disney+ series would be inter-connected with the flagship MCU instalments was met with a certain degree of skepticism from the fanbase.
Whilst the initial seeds were sown when Rhodey appeared in Falcon & the Winter Soldier, fans remained in anticipation as to a connection from the mainline cinematic entries.
This movie truly showcases the interconnectivity by taking elements from Wandavision (as all of Wanda's motivations and newfound power have been showcased in Wandavision) and some elements from What If (the appearance of Captain Carter alongside nods to an evil alternate Dr Strange).
It appears that the new slate of Disney+ entries have truly made the MCU a more interconnected franchise. With this increased overlap, it makes for exciting possibilities and ramps up the prospect of more crossovers and stories that may be explored.
