Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness: 10 Reasons It Sucks

7. The Second Credits Scene Is HIDEOUS

It sure as hell was intriguing to see what the credits scenes in this movie would be, for there are boundless possibilities in a trippy, multiverse-themed superhero flick such as this. And credit where credit's due, the mid-credits scene is definitely an intriguing bit of set-up for Doctor Strange's next adventure.

But as for the post-credits scene... that's a different story entirely.

In the film there's a, in fairness, decently amusing gag in which frequent Raimi collaborator Bruce Campbell cameos as a very rude food salesman in one of the other universes. Doctor Strange enchants him to hit himself over and over again for, according to Strange, about three weeks.

The post-credits scene cuts back to the food salesman as the spell finally wears off, much to his joy, and that's it. That's bloody it!

'Insulting' doesn't even cover it. It's essentially the film trolling the audience but not in a funny way like Spider-Man: Homecoming did. Instead, it's a smug, unacceptably lazy bit of braindead comedy that is not what anyone wanted to see at all.

Just think what we could've had instead of this useless gag. We could've got Tom Cruise as an Iron Man variant. We could've got another hint as to the next big bad of the MCU. Or hell, we could've seen something of the Karl Mordo from the MCU's universe, as he was literally entirely absent throughout the whole film.

And speaking of Mordo...
