Aside from the constant death fake-outs, Marvel's weakest link is their villains. Aside from Loki, the MCU has not yet produced a stand-out villain with the majority of them leaving a dull stain on the screen and then dying. The Mandarin, Ronan The Accuser, Malekith, the list goes on and there is no doubt you will need to use Google to even remember who most of them are.

With an actor of Chiwetel Ejiofor's talent an overwhelming worry was that he would be added to the sh*t villain roster, but according to Gregory Ellwood at The Playlist "The last time a supporting character’s motivations in a Marvel movie were played in such captivating shades of grey was when Tom Hiddleston brought Loki to life in the first “Thor.”

Presumably more of a 'rebellious friend' in this first movie, it is comforting to know that Ejiofor's Mordo is being primed as a villain who will actually have an impact not only in the Strange universe but also potentially in the wider MCU.
