Donald Sutherland: 5 Awesome Performances And 5 That Sucked

And 5 Performances That Sucked...

5. Jake Conrad - Shadow Conspiracy (1997)

Donald Sutherland Shadow Conspiracy You don't have to look far to discover how bad of a film Shadow Conspiracy is. Not only does it have the rare honour of holding a zero per cent rating on Rotten Tomatoes, its also practically impossible to find a copy of the film on DVD in its country of origin, the United States. As of 2014, the only way to watch the film in America (as if you would really want to), is by watching it on VHS; you know, those big plastic rectangles that were replaced by discs almost twenty years ago. The film begins on the premise that Jake Conrad (Sutherland) is behind a conspiracy that's attempting to usurp the presidency in a power grab and that Charlie Sheen's character must race against time to reveal and stop the secret plan. Yes, it's a flimsy plot, yes it features some talented actors, but oh yes it features some very bad acting. Sheen himself was noted as being the worst performer in the film upon its release, critics pointing out that he had no conviction behind his lines whatsoever. Sheen was awful, but even Sutherland and Linda Hamilton as the other main cast members gave wooden performances that betrayed their backgrounds as very talented actors. If, for some reason, you want to read up on the film after this, good luck to you. The film is so unremarkable that nobody can even be bothered to write up a full synopsis on the internet.
