Dream Casting Nic Cage's Tiger King Series

While Joe Exotic was clearly front and centre for The Tiger King documentary series, it's the perplexing tiger 'entrepreneur' Carole Baskin who is the most fascinating. Filmmakers could easily depict Baskin as a go getter who has used her wealth and passion for the forces of good, or a manipulative murderer who exploits her lovers and her fans to get her own way. To bring both of these aspects to life would take the best acting talent going around.

While she would need to dye her head red, and like several of our choices she may be getting slightly old for the role, the legendary Meryl Streep would be the dream choice for Mrs Baskin. Streep could easily pull off the sickly sweet aspects of Baskin's character, including her "hello all you cats and kittens" catchphrase. One could facetiously argue that Streep's overinflated sense of importance would assist in her portrayal, although it's her ability to bring a variety of emotions to her characterisations that makes her a perfect fit.

While Streep would be great as the present day Baskin, her believability as a younger version of Baskin would be severely strained. With that in mind, our casting agents are going to need to acquire the talents of one more actor to help round out the cast...
