If as casting agents we were forced to go for a single actor as Baskin, then the person best suited may just be Jessica Chastain, the 'ageless' entity more than capable of bringing the younger and older aspects of Carole to life. Chastain would bring a three dimensional characterisation to the role, with her ability to bring Baskin's bubbly exterior to life the only question mark.
