Each Sacha Baron Cohen Character Ranked Worst To Best
1. Borat Sagdiyev
Choosing between Borat and Ali G is an incredibly difficult task. Still, Borat edges out the charismatic youth by way of how much cultural significance the characters feature film had at the time of its release.
The catchphrases were everywhere, and it was such an easily quotable film. With so many famous lines and popular scenes, it was a huge commercial and critical success.
Borat's appearances throughout the film quickly show us the xenophobia that many people he interacted with felt, and Cohen expertly managed to get those involved to reveal deeply problematic views with ease.
Unlike Bruno, the variety of prejudice was surprisingly vast. Borat as a character exposed racism, homophobia, classism, sexism and other issues, making for a film that was both fun and thought-provoking. We can see that the character is well respected, as we will soon be able to watch the sequel.
Borat always gets a laugh, and ranks as the only one to come out of retirement for Cohen, having brought the actor critical acclaim - and popularising the mankini. He leaves behind a large legacy that the new film will hopefully continue.
